The restored New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Matthew Nyindam, has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate him, describing the ruling as a validation of the will of the electorate expressed in the 7th December 2024 election.
Mr Nyindam said he had always been confident that the people of Kpandai voted for him, accusing his opponents of attempting to overturn the outcome through legal means.
"I want to use this opportunity to thank the Supreme Court for the ruling because it is clear that the people wanted to change the will of the people of Kpandai, but the Supreme Court has reaffirmed the will of the people."
He said this following his victory on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court, in a 4–1 majority decision, quashed the High Court judgment that had annulled Mr Nyindam’s election, effectively restoring him as Kpandai’s MP.
Director of Legal Affairs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Gary Nimako Marfo, has described the Supreme Court’s decision as clear, emphatic and final.
“I think that the Supreme Court has spoken emphatically that the decision of the Tamale High Court was made without jurisdiction, and so the court has quashed it,” he said. “Honourable Nyindam still remains the MP for the people of Kpandai. That position is maintained,” he said.
In the camp of the NDC, Majority Chief Whip, Nelson Rockson Dafeamekpor, said the party was “grieved” by the outcome and would provide guidance to its candidate on the next steps.
“As a party, we are grieved by this decision, and therefore, we will advise our candidate on the matter regarding the next step to take,” he told JoyNews’ Kwaku Asante after the court's ruling.
