Real Madrid fell to back-to-back home defeats and their second loss in the Champions League group stage as they were beaten by AC Milan at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Vinicius Junior’s penalty equalised for Madrid after Malick Thiaw’s opener, but strikes from Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders secured a deserved victory for Milan.
Madrid have now lost their last two games, after being beaten by rivals Barcelona 4-0 at home over the weekend.
And Carlo Ancelotti’s reigning European champions have now lost two of their first four games in this Champions League campaign, following a defeat away to Lille.
Both sides have had mixed starts to the season – Milan only had one win from their first three Champions League games and are seventh in Serie A, eight points behind leaders Napoli.
Madrid, meanwhile, are nine points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, and will face further questions after a substandard display filled with wasted chances.
