Cameroon have opened the African campaign in the World Cup and are currently holding Mexico in pulsating 0-0 drawn game in the first half.
The Africans could have been down by two goals but the referee has adjudged two of Dos Santos' superb connection as offside.
He was picked up early on in the 10th minute with a teasing cross from the right and the former Barcelona player had a sleek touch which beat the Cameroonian goal keeper for what looked like the opener but the referee disallowed it.
Having been played onside by a Cameroonian defender, Santos later connected another header at close range but that too was ruled out.
In a hugely physical game with swift counter attacking play by both sides, Cameroon also had a goal disallowed. It is 0-0 at half time.
Back from recess. The South Americans break the deadlock after pounding the goal area of the Cameroonian side. Oribe Peralta connected a rebound after Dos Santos' goal bound shot was parried. It's 1-0 in favour of Mexico.
