A Ford Explorer vehicle with registration number AS 6836 12 caught fire afternoon on the Tema-Accra highway, Monday.
According to eyewitnesses, there were loud sparks from underneath the vehicle after the driver had negotiated a U-turn.

"We just saw sparks which developed into a wild fire, we started shouting to draw the driver's attention, but honestly the car was not speeding at all," an eye witness told MyJoyOnline.
The driver and three other passengers fled for safety unharmed.
The Ghana National Fire Service personnel put out the flames immediately upon arrival with the help of some military men.
The driver of the Ford vehicle, in shock, said the vehicle was in good shape and had being serviced three weeks earlier.
