Ghana needed a contentious penalty in the 90th minute from defender Vincent Atingah to seal a group stage berth in the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations.
The Hearts of Oak ace stepped up to convert with steady aplomb to secure the Black Stars 'B' a 1-0 victory against Gambia.
Maxwell Konadu's side were no doubt favourites coming into the match and were expected to beat Gambia with relative ease, having won the previous encounter 4-1 in 2013.
But a sluggish performance, especially by the attackers meant Black Stars B had to wait until the death to fetch the decisive goal.
With 5 minutes of time added on and the game heading for the lotteries of penalty, a single kick from the spot was rather used to decide the tie.
Referee adjudged Gambia defender to have handled the ball in the box after a strike by Thomas Abbey, a decision which Gambia coach described as ''Sad for African football'' in his post match interview.
Atingah, however, did not have two minds as he tucked home the winner.
