Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has admitted that his team were second best in Wednesday's 2-0 loss to Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League.
A first half finish by Sam Adams and a second by Ivorian Latif Abdel Bamba on the cusp of full time, secured maximum points for a dominant Aduana side.
In what was a candid post-match assessment, Ouattara said ''Aduana played well, we we didn't play football today. We gave them all the chances to score us. Since the first half, we did not play well. We played very badly and accept that today, we were not good enough.''
Ouattara did not hold back in the post match interview as he questioned his players work ethic.
''We did not run enough. We did not run. Because when you see the first goal, the second goal as well, the mistakes we made in conceding that corner kick and all these things, then you know we did not do enough. We did not run today at all and about that, I am not happy and I am going to tell them [the players].
Wednesday's defeat was the fourth in the last seven league matches in a rotten run that has seen the Phobians manage just one win.
Hearts have now dropped to 6th position on the league table, with 41 points.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars have now accumulated 35, and have moved to 11th on the log.
