A woman accused of murdering her elderly parents at their home hit them both with an ornamental flat iron, a court heard.
Arthur Toop, 82, and his wife Joan, 74, were discovered dead at their Uplands Road bungalow in Charminster, Bournemouth, on 28 November last year.
A court heard their daughter Susan Toop also attacked them with a knife.
Ms Toop, 54, a nurse, denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Winchester Crown Court also heard that when police arrived at the house, where all three lived together, Ms Toop had a wound to her own neck.
Post-mortem tests showed the couple were killed by being struck with a blunt object.
The case continues.
