In the spirit of love and kindness that defines the month of love, Yango Ghana, part of global technology company, Yango Group has held a community outreach initiative at the Chosen Children’s Home in Accra. This heartfelt visit, which took place on Wednesday 18th February, was aimed at bringing joy and support to the children residing there, reinforcing Yango’s commitment to social responsibility and community development.

As part of this initiative, Yango Ghana distributed essential items to the children, including educational equipment, food items, water, and other necessities. This thoughtful gesture underscores the company’s belief in the importance of nurturing and empowering the next generation.

"We believe that every child deserves care, support, and the opportunity to thrive. Our initiative at the Chosen Children’s Home is just one way we can contribute to the wellbeing of our future leaders,” said Tom Ofonime, Country Manager of Yango Ride in Ghana “The joy on the faces of the children reminds us of the transformative power of community support and kindness.”

During the visit, Yango representatives engaged with the children through fun activities and games, further fostering a sense of community and warmth. The interaction aimed not only to provide physical support but also to brighten the spirits of the children and reinforce positive relationships within the community.

Apostle Cobi Washington, Founder and Director of Chosen Children’s Home, expressed his and the children’s appreciation to Yango Ghana for the visit and gifts.

With over 70 children at the orphanage in Darkuman, Accra ranging from 1month - 19 years old, The Chosen Children’s Home takes care of many orphans , street children and less privileged children in the society. The organization also runs a rehab center for persons recovering from drug addiction and psychological trauma. It has over 8 branches nationwide and supports children through accommodation, education, nurturing and childcare.

This initiative reiterates Yango’s pledge to contribute to the welfare of its local communities, demonstrating that compassion and service can create meaningful impacts. This initiative follows other impactful projects like the Urban mobility hackathon, the expanded Yangon Fellowship program, International Youth Day support to The Kaneshie Secondary & Technical School among others. The company remains dedicated to exploring further opportunities for involvement and support in various community initiatives to uplift those in need.
