Two young men narrowly escaped death at Teshie near Accra after the entire roofing of a building under construction fell off and trapped them in their vehicle just before midday, Wednesday.
Strong winds that preceded a heavy but brief downpour is blamed for the incident.

The construction works, an added storey to a building housing a number of businesses, including the ADB Bank at the St Anne Catholic Church, Teshie, was said to be nearing completion.
Police sources at the scene said two people were injured, while a Matiz cab, a pick-up truck and the trapped Toyota Corolla suffered considerable damage.

It took Police and Fire Service personnel, aided by locals and others who had thronged the scene several hours to extricate the trapped Corolla, with registration number AW 1232 - 21.
Residents said the same construction works had suffered a similar fate about a month ago, also during heavy rains accompanied by strong winds.
The two occupants of the Corolla told Myjoyonline.com that they were on their way to a wedding ceremony when the roofing, along with the trusses and all, landed on their car right on the road. They recalled it was shortly before noon.
Bystanders counted the two 'very lucky' men for escaping unharmed, saying the spectacle was unbelievable.
The incident completely blocked the Teshie to First Junction side of the road, transferring Nungua-bound traffic to the opposite lane.
Mr. Emmanuel Adjetey Boye, Senior Disaster Control Officer with the Ledzokuku NADMO, told Myjoyonline that together with the Police and Fire Service personnel, were hopeful to clear the debris to free the road for traffic flow.
The Ledzokuku Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Mordecai Quarshie, who was at the scene of the incident, said he came across the incident in his usual inspection of the municipality each time there are heavy rains and windstorms.
The winds had also ripped off portions of the roofing of the Roman Catholic Basic School, for which he said he had called in his works team to evaluate the damage for immediate restoration.
"From here I'm moving to Salem, we call it the Salem Cluster of Schools. That is where normally when the rain is strong we have issues here but I'll wait for the works team to come and then we all go there for the inspection so that where there is need for remedial works, we will know and assess it right now and fix it asap."
