WIENCO Ghana Limited, sole sponsors of Real Tamale United (RTU), has donated sports equipment worth 30 thousand dollars to boost the morale of the players to put up their best in the ongoing GLO Premier League.WIENCO sourced the equipment from Pannar, its partner company based in South Africa. The equipment included six sets of jerseys, 39 pieces of track suites and quantities of travelling wear, goalkeepers’ vests, gloves, gym shoes and some throwing bibs.Mr. William Kotey, General Manager of WIENCO, who presented the equipment to management of RTU at Tamale Sports Stadium after the team’s evening training, appealed to players to strive higher to lift the club up.He said WIENCO and its partners would continue to provide the necessary support to the club and called for unity among players, board members and supporters to ensure that they won most of their matches, especially home ones.Abdul Kadir Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RTU expressed appreciation to WIENCO and its partners in South Africa for the enormous assistance to the team over the years and expressed the hope that with determination the club would emerge among the top four at the end of the league. He said the gesture was the third in three years and urged supporters to comport themselves during matches to ensure that their actions did not mar matches so that the club would continue to receive sponsorship.Habib Mohammed, captain of RTU, who received the equipment said the gesture would motivate them to win the rest of their matches. He appealed to supporters, fans and management of the club to put the defeat they suffered from visiting Accra Hearts of Oak last Sunday behind them and help bring unity in the interest of the club.He said: “We tried our best but we could not win. No one goes to battle and thinks of defeat but when you are defeated you have to put it behind and adopt strategies and come back stronger.”He gave the assurance that the players would do their best to win the rest of their matches to ensure that they finished among the first four clubs on the league table.Source: GNA
