The glorious revival of Accra Hearts of Oak appears to be on track after thumping Berekum Arsenals 3-1 at the Accra Sports stadium. The Phobians were languishing menacingly at the drop zone at the end of the first round of the 2012-13 league season but with nine points at stake in the opening second round, Hearts have grabbed seven, with Arsenals becoming their latest victims.Romeo Abban opened the Hearts account early in the first half with Esme Mends increasing the tally to two later in the second half. But former Hearts player, Douglass Nkrumah who was regarded as surplus to Hearts' requirements and subsequently sold out proved a mouthful as he got the Berekum side back into the game with a perfectly taken penalty kick.Minutes later Mahatma Otoo justified why he earned a maiden Black Stars call–up with a sumptuous finish late in the game.Elsewhere, Medeama recorded an impressive 1-0 victory over Kumasi King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to consolidate their position on top of the league table.Berekum Chelsea also beat Liberty Professionals 2-0 at home in what could be described as a sweet revenge for the former league Champions.Chelsea fell heavily in the first leg tie succumbing 5-0 to the Dansoman based side. Their 2-0 victory keeps their title ambitions alive and hope leaders Medeama will slip up.In Cape Coast, Ashgold attempted an audacious comeback after conceding three goals early in the game to Ebusua Dwarfs but the Obuasi based side were only a goal shy in that attempt with the game ending 3-2 in favour of Dwarfs.Wa All Stars ended the fairy tale run by league debutants Amidaus FC when they pummeled them 3-0 at home.New Edubiase also beat Kpando Hearts of Lions by two goals to nil.The game between Kotoko and Real Tamale United has been postponed.Scores at a glanceHearts of Oak 3-1 Berekum Arsenals
