The first vice-president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Reginald Thompson, has hinted of a soon-to-be-established boxing academy in the Odododiodoo Constituency in the Greater Accra Region to train the youth.Mr Thompson, the only member of the previous GBA administration to be retained in office at the recent GBA congress, said his position would afford him the opportunity to continue with his contribution to the sport.“I love the sport; I grew up at James Town and was part of boxing in the town. It is now time to make boxing a lucrative venture in Accra,” Mr. Thompson, who doubles as the CEO of James Quagraine and Co., an accounting firm, said.He said his first task would be to form a team to hunt for talents and groom them through the academy system to churn out the next generation of Ghanaian boxers.Mr Thompson pledged his support for new GBA president, Peter Zwennes, as he carries out the vision of the new administration to make the sport more attractive.
