An eight-member team from the Higher Education Students Financing Board of Uganda is in Ghana to understudy operations of the Students Loan Trust Fund.
The team is led by their Board Chaiman Rev. Professor CallistoLocheng. Other members of the team are the Executive Director Mr. Michael Wanyama, Chairperson of the Loans Committee Prof. Christine Dranzoa and the Chairperson of the Education Committee of Parliament Hon. Jacob Opolot among others.
During their visit they will be receiving briefings from members of the SLTF management team on issues such as disbursement processes, loan recovery modalities and the IT infrastructure of the Fund. The team will also be visiting some key partners of the SLTF including the Social Security and National Insurance Trust, the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlements Systems and the Ministry of Education.
The CEO of the SLTF, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah said that his outfit always welcomes opportunities for experience sharing with comparable organizations on the continent. “We have been doing a lot to improve our operations and enhance the customer experience, including diversifying the guarantor options, and introducing electronic payment platforms for greater convenience. As we progress we are eager to trade expertise with our colleagues”.
In recent months the Fund has received similar missions from Sierra Leone, Malawi and the United States.
