One of the sons of former Vice-President Aliu Mahama will on Saturday leave the country ahead of his address of the 9th Annual Oxford Africa Conference at the Oxford University, which comes off on May 17 to 18.
Farouk Aliu Mahama will be the first young politician from Northern Ghana to speak to students of the prestigious Oxford University.
The Oxford Africa Conference is one of the largest and most globally recognized African conferences of its type, organized by the long-established Oxford Africa Society in collaboration with the Oxford Africa Business Network.
The Conference is widely recognized as an influential platform and the speakers in the most recent past conferences have included Dr. Donald Kaberuka, 7th President of the African Development Bank; Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; John Mahama, former President of Ghana and President Akufo-Addo.
It is aimed at providing a vibrant platform for new thinking about an international Africa across all disciplines; politics, business, arts, technology and academia, connecting intergenerational leaders from around the world to shape an integrated and innovative perspective on African issues.
This year’s conference is on the theme “Showcasing and Scaling up Indigenous Innovations in Healthcare and Wellness”.
On the sidelines, Farouk Aliu Mahama will hold meetings aimed at attracting juicy opportunities for the Yendi Constituency in furtherance of his vision to create a sister-city relationship for Yendi.
