Two separate fire outbreaks in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday, August 6, destroyed commercial and residential structures in Nungua and Odorkor Official Town in the Krowor and Ga Central municipalities, causing significant property losses but no reported casualties.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the first fire broke out along Old Kasaperko Road in Nungua, where a metal container used for commercial purposes was engulfed in flames.

The incident was reported at 03:38 am, with firefighters arriving at the scene at 03:53 am. By the time they arrived, the container was fully ablaze.
The fire was brought under control by 04:00 am, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties. Despite the response, the container and all of its contents were destroyed. No items were recovered from the scene, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.

A second fire occurred at Odorkor Official Town near Adi Junction, affecting both residential and commercial properties.
The blaze was reported at 02:08 am, and the emergency crew reached the scene at 02:27 am to find the fire burning through several wooden structures.

Three wooden residential structures containing the occupants' personal belongings were destroyed, while another wooden structure being used as a mechanic's workshop storeroom was also reduced to ashes.
The fire threatened nearby buildings but was contained before it spread to several adjoining wooden structures, limiting further damage.

No injuries or deaths were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire at Odorkor Official Town is under investigation. Authorities have not yet announced the cause of the Nungua fire.
