US $3,000 is at stake as prize money for the winners of the Maiden edition of African Triathlon Sprint Cup 2019 which is being organized by the Ghana Triathlon Federation and sponsored by Cowbell (Promasidor Ghana Limited).
The event which brings triathlete all over the world is designated by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) as an Olympic qualifier. Triathletes from Luxemburg, France, Turkey, Morocco, Syria, among others have since arrived in the country for the Sunday big 2020 Olympic qualifier
The race will start at 8:30am in the morning at the Labadi Beach and the triathletes will be swimming - 750 meters, bike -20km and run -5km. The event will be two categories, the Elite group which is made of international and professional triathletes and the age group made of non-professional triathletes.
Apart from the winners taking US$ 3,000 prize money, they will also be giving goodies from the Sponsor Cowbell. Cowbell is not only giving goodies to the participants but to the spectators who cheer the Triathlon. Everybody stands to gain at the event.
Labadi Beach Hotel is the official Hotel of the event.
The Ghana team will be led by Master Ofusu Mark Twum and Laila Zangwio, the rest of the team members are Abdul-Rauf Yahaya, Musah Seidu and Ebenezer Osebutey.
Registration is still on-going those who are interested and have not yet registered can do so on the race day 9th June 2019.
Ghana Stands to benefit alot from this African Cup. Our Technical officers will have the opportunity to officiate at this high level.
