Team Ghana made a disappointing start at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha as Joseph Amoah failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the men’s 100m.
The sprinter finished sixth with a time of 10.36 seconds in heat 3. The time clocked was way below his personal best of 10.01 seconds achieved in June this year.

He needed to finish in top three or be among the best 6 times in all heats to qualify for the semis.
Team Ghana will now focus on the 4X100m relays for men and women for medals.
Amoah is part of the men’s relay team. They come into this competition on the back of monumental success at the All African Games having won gold.
