Reverend Daniel Opong-Wereko, Oda District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, urged Christians to regard themselves as ambassadors of Jesus Christ and continue with His good works.
He also asked them to work diligently to ensure development and be each other's keeper to make life bearable for humankind.
Rev. Opong-Wereko gave the advice on the eve of New Year at Essam in the Birim South District, as part of activities organised by Church for their leaders to interact with the members, especially the youth.
He noted that Christians had ignored the sacred call by Christ to serve humankind and reminded them that they were the salt of the earth and they should strive to make the world a place worth living.
Rev. Opong-Wereko called on Churches to contribute to the development of communities in which they operated, to improve the standards of living of the people, since service to humankind was service to God.
He commended Christians in the country for their commitment to peace.
Mr. Reginald Sackey, Assembly Member for the Essam Electoral Area, thanked the Church for identifying itself with the community and advised the people to attend communal labour towards the development of the area.
He appealed to individuals, especially well to do people from Essam, organisations and the District Assembly to assist the people complete their electrification project.
