The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has expressed satisfaction with the preparations by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008 towards the tournament.
The Pharaohs, who are the defending champions, will be based in Group C in Kumasi with four-time champions, Cameroon, Sudan and Zambia.
A statement issued by Magnus Rex Danquah, Chief Operating Officer of the LOC in a statement copied to GNA Sports said a delegation from the EFA made the confession after a recent inspection tour of facilities earmarked for the tournament at the Baba Yara stadium and hotels in Kumasi.
The delegation led by Deputy Egyptian Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Osama Hamdy during the tour visited the Miklin Hotel and other facilities including transportation within the Kumasi Metropolis.
Egypt thus becomes the high profile team to express positive remarks about the preparation for the tournament after fellow North Africans, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia visited the country much earlier.
Tunisia will be based in Tamale with fellow Group D opponents Senegal, South Africa and Angola.Source: GNA
