The Senior National team, the Black Stars has attained its best FIFA ranking ever in the history of football in the country.
The Stars rose 29 places on the FIFA rankings to 14th position in the world.
That achievement also saw the Stars topping the African chart, followed by the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in second place.
The Black Stars put up a sterling performance at the just ended 26th edition of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008.
Two players of the team, Michael Essien and Sulley Ali Muntari were selected among the best African eleven.
