Abreshia United beat Elmina Shalom F/C 1-0 to lift the Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur’s Cup in a special gala competition organized by the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipal Assembly to round off activities of the 51st independence anniversary celebration at Elmina.
Nine football clubs in the KEEA municipality participated in the competition.
Mr George Frank Asmah, the Municipal Chief Executive, who presented the trophy to the winners, amidst jubilation by their supporters, congratulated them on winning the Cup for the second time and asked them to take their training seriously.
He commended both the players and supporters of the clubs that participated in the tournament for the high degree of sportsmanship they exhibited during the competition and asked them to keep it up.
The lone goal of the match was scored by midfielder, Eric Baffour, through a spot kick in the first half of the match.
Abreshia Nsemka F/C had earlier beaten Elmina AOC F/C 1-0 for the third place.
Nana Ato Arthur was among those who watched the match.
