Ten coaches have so far applied for the vacant Black Stars job.
The ten, all expatriates are devoid of big names, according to Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
No Ghanaian has applied for the job which has become vacant following the abrogation of Claude Le Roy’s contract by the GFA last week.
Nsiah told GNA Sports that “there is no big fish among the ten and no Ghanaian has applied for the job.”
He reiterated the GFA’s decision to head-hunt for the Frenchman’s replacement instead of advertising, but said applications may still be considered.
The General Secretary said the head-hunting mission has taken the Federation across the world in search of a replacement that would supervise the Black Stars friendly match against the Socceroos of Australia on May 23 in Sydney.
“It is our desire to have a coach before the game against Australia, so that he can have a fair idea of the team.”
The Stars will begin their 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup qualifier against Libya on June 1.
Le Roy, who led the Stars to a bronze feat at the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations, ceases to be head coach after May 30 after a mutual agreement with the GFA.
