A nine-year-old boy drowned at Assin Asratoasi last Saturday when he fell in a stream near his parents’ farm.
Narrating the incident to the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast Constable Humphrey Dompre of the Nyankomasi Ahenkro Police Station, said Richard Koomson, who lived with his parents and siblings, followed them to the farm, located about a mile-and-a-half away from their house.
He said while at the farm, the boy’s mother and siblings crossed over to the next farm, which was divided by the Apenwhea stream, but unknown to them Richard was following them.
He said in the process of crossing the bridge Richard fell into the stream and drowned.
According to Constable Dompre, Richard’s parents realised he was missing and after a thorough search, his body was found floating in the stream.
