Real Tamale United on Wednesday reversed their recent chain of poor results to hand Kumasi Asante Kotoko their second defeat in the Onetouch Premier League.
United won by a lone first half goal in their tension-packed game at the Tamale Stadium as the two sides cleared an outstanding league game.
Monitored radio commentary said the presence of a strange bird which intermittently perched on top of the United goal posts, led to superstitious claims by Kotoko fans as the cause of the failure of the free-scoring league leaders to net even once when it mattered most.
At the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, Hearts of Oak ceded a first half lead to draw one-all with visiting Kpando Heart of Lions, while King Faisal also played a two-all draw with visiting Zaytuna FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
