The chiefs and people of Have in the Hohoe District have held a durbar to climax the celebration of the Agadevi festival.
The festival was instituted to commemorate a major landslide that occurred 75 years ago on a section of the Akwapim/Togo range.
The festival is meant to bring the chiefs and people together to thank God for saving the lives of the people in the area.
Mr. Amar Deep Singh Hari, the Chief Executive Officer of the Intercom Programming and Manufacturing Company who addressed the durbar, donated 5,000 Ghana Cedis towards the construction of a Town Hall.
He appealed to the people to build the 30,000 Ghana-cedi Town Hall and establish a computer learning centre to facilitate the development of the area.
Mr. John Peter Amewu, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, commended the people for the peaceful atmosphere that has prevailed in the traditional area over the years.
He spoke about the December election and advised them to maintain the peace before and after the election.
Togbe Asemtyra the IX, the Paramount Chief of Have Traditional Area, appealed to his people to contribute to the building of the Town Hall.
