Barely 48 hours after the news broke that some commercial drivers and their mates have been subjected to a corpse-dressing ordeal by military personnel at the hospital mortuary, the hospital's officials say at least six persons have been identified. The six faced a special investigative panel, set up by the hospital authorities, for their role in unorthodox punishment meted out to the offending drivers and their mates. The victims have told the media horrid tales of their ordeal at the mortuary. They bathed, fondled and packed corpses against their will and amid nerve-racking shouts from supervising mortuary attendants and soldiers.A driver (name withheld) narrating his ordeal to Joy News intimated that the experience has left with dreadful nightmares.“I feel haunted and frightened. I shake and feel feverish,” a driver’s mate told the media.Meanwhile officials at the Ghana Private Road Drivers Union (GPRTU) have expressed satisfaction with the hospital authorities’ steps at bringing to book the “wrongdoers.”Meanwhile, the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Operations at the GPRTU Headquarters Mr Ernest Tam has stated that the union would soon take the victims through therapy administered by psychologists. The committee is scheduled to present its report in seven days.Listen to audio attachment of the stories of some of the drivers and their matesStory by Fiifi Koomson
