Organisers of the 2006 GLO-CAF awards say all is set for the awards ceremony here in Accra on March 1.
Ghana’s Michael Essien is competing against his club mate Didier Drogba of the Ivory Coast and Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon for the prestigious African Footballer of the Year award.
The sponsors and organisers of the event, Globacom Limited say they have made two private jets available for the three nominees to carry them to Accra for the event.
Ghana is also in contention for five out of eight high profile award categories.
Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan is competing with two others for the Young Player award while Sheila Okine has been nominated for the female player of the year.
The Black Stars competes against Cote D’Ivoire and Egypt for National Team of the Year award. Ghana again competes against Cote D’Ivoire and Nigeria for Best Supporters Club of the Year.
