Ghanaian international Junior Agogo kicked off his career with Zamalek on Sunday in the all-Egypt fixture of the opening African Champions League group match at the Cairo Stadium.
Agogo struggled to make an impression in a game of few scoring chances and was substituted after 75 minutes as Zamalek went on to lose 2-1 to Al-Ahly in the Group A match.
Zamalek, now third on the standings after the opening day matches would play Zimbabwe’s Dynamos next at home in August.
Agogo, 29, joined Zamalek from English Championship side, Nottingham Forest for a reported $1.1 million fee.
