The 2008 NPP Campaign Committee of the New Patriotic Party has sent a congratulatory message to the new World IBF Welterweight champion, Joshua Clottey.
A release signed by the chairman of the party’s communication committee, Arthur Kobina Kennedy said “His success over the weekend in far away Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America, made all Ghanaians jubilant and proud. By his feat, he joined a select group of Ghanaians who have achieved the ultimate in boxing and brought honour to Ghana.
“His feat shows that with innate skill, dedication and hard work, the sky is the limit and we can all go high.”
The statement urged all Ghanaians to be inspired by ‘Clottey’s achievement to believe, a little more in ourselves, in one another and in Ghana.
It wished Joshua a long reign as champion and prayed ‘God bless Ghana.’
