Ghana defender, John Mensah has given a positive report of his injury in the run up to the start of the French Ligue 1 this weekend.
Mensah, picked up a calf injury during training with his new club, Olympique Lyon but the Ghanaian player says he is ready for the new season with the French Champions.
He told the Ghana Football Associations telling www.ghanafa.org that: “it’s nothing to worry about.”
The Ghanaian defender started with low runs on Wednesday and is hopeful of being ready for the new campaign.
“What happened was just a minor injury and the recovery has been well so far.
“I was advised by our (Lyon) medical team to stay off for ten days and hopefully I should be back by this week.
“I’m feeling better and hopefully I will be back very soon. It is nothing to worry about.”
Mensah missed out of the Trophee des Champions for Lyon last weekend, a match between the league champions and Cup winners which precedes the start of the new season.
However the Black Stars defender might be handed a starting place when Lyon attempt the defence of their title beginning this Sunday in their Ligue 1 home fixture against Toulouse.
