A Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club has called for the dissolution of the current management board.
Alhaji Fawas Zowk in a telephone interview with Asempa Sports’ Christopher Opoku, admitted that, there are cracks within the management board.
He stated that due to the division amongst the board members, decisions that are reached are not implemented. Also the sub-committees are not working adequately.
Alhaji Zowk was of the opinion that dissolving the current board will pave way for an extraordinary congress to weed out those who do not have the club at heart.
Alhaji Fawas lamented that the attitude of the board has affected the fortunes of the club. He cited the position the club attained at last seasons One Touch Premier League as embarrassing. This is coupled with, the club’s inability to pay the salaries of some technical team members and unpaid bonuses to players.
The club is also saddled with a debt of GH¢1,800,000 which is accruing interest. He said "Some management board members do not know the clubs Secretariat".
Commenting on the size of the board, he said the 24 members are too many. But he was quick to say that there are equally hard working board members who can turn things around if given the chance.
The outspoken board member named the only candidate so far to have applied for the CEO Job as Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, the former, National Chapters Committee Chairman.
