Former Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye, insists he should have been part of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
He expressed dismay that he was not part of the Black Stars, contending that he was far better than some of the current Black Stars players.
“With the exception of Samuel Osei Kufuor who was my master, none of the crop of players playing at the Black Stars rear is better than me.”
Dan Quaye who now plies his trade in China unleashed the bombshell in an interview with Fox FM in Kumasi on Monday.
The former Hearts defender contended that selection into the Black Stars was not being done fairly.
“If the selection was fair, I would have been part and parcel of the current Black Stars squad.”
However, Dan Quaye who was part of the Ghana team that reached the second round of the Germany 2006 World Cup said he would not hesitate to join the squad when is invited once again.
“Ghana is my country and I will play for the national team anytime that I am called upon to do so”.
Dan Quaye debunked a publication in a German tabloid that said Ghana played a match of convenience with Brazil in the 2006 World Cup. “I was part of the team and nothing of that sort transpired”.
