Authentic Sports Networx, a Kumasi-based Media firm has pieced together an exhibition soccer match that would bring together seasoned soccer players to play for peace.
The game slated for the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, October 26, would draw players from the Premier League Clubs to represent the Northern and Southern sectors to preach peace ahead of the December polls.
Listowell Yesu Bukarson, Sports Manager of Authentic Sports Network told GNA Sports in Accra that the objective of the scheme is to bring together the Premiership players to advocate for a peaceful general election.
He said the game would also bring together accomplished media personalities to join the campaign for a peaceful atmosphere during the December General Election.
Mr. Bukarson said head coaches of the 16 Premier League Clubs would be enjoined to select two players each to form the nucleus of the teams.
“The organizers would thereafter select eight other players to join the selected 32 in search of the 20 players each for the two sides.”
Coaches Oti Akenteng and Isaac Boateng will be in charge of the Southern Sector team while Bashir Kwaku Hayford and Mohammed Gargo would handle the Northern Sector side.
As a prelude to the game, media personnel would sell out a curtain raiser to draw public interest and attention to the exhibition match.
