Former Ghana international goalkeeper Sammy Adjei has hinted that he will return to action for the Black Stars.The 27-year-old, who was recently released by Israeli side Moadon Ashdod, quit the national team in March, clearly unhappy over lack of playing time.Sammy Adjei, who has been playing second fiddle to Richard Kingson, is reported to have told friends that he will play for Ghana if he is invited. The shot-stopper, who has returned to his former club Hearts of Oak, said he quit the Black Stars to help his then Israeli club to beat the drop.It seems he quit the Black Stars under pressure from the Israeli side when he was threatened with dismissal."I'm grateful for my experiences with the Black Stars but I am quitting after a very careful consideration," Adjei said in March."It's not true that I am unhappy about being second-choice for Ghana and I want people to respect my decision that it has been taken in good faith. "I want to concentrate on my club Ashdod to help them avoid relegation as we are just place above the bottom-placed side."There are many young Ghanaian goalkeepers who are also very capable and I want to also give them the opportunity to serve our country."Adjei earned 33 caps while playing for the Black Stars was part of the Ghana squad that played at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.The highest point of his career so far came in 2000 when he helped Ghana's Hearts of Oak to win the African Champions League.Source: Ghanasoccernet
