Shanghai Construction Group has donated a number of spare parts to the National Sports Council (NSC) for the maintenance of the Essipong Sports Stadium near Sekondi in the Western Region.
The equipment includes a score-board system, public address system/conference sound systems, fire alarm system, network/telephone system, TV monitoring system and a cable television system among others.
Mark Chen, a Director of the Shanghai Group of Companies indicated that the same donation will be made at the Tamale Sports Stadium, in the Northern Region as part of the company’s plans to give the two facilities the best of continued maintenance.
He was optimistic that the council would continue with its good maintenance culture so that the stadium would be able to host many more matches and in addition generate the needed revenue.
Prince Ernest Oduro-Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the NSC received the items and expressed gratitude to the Chinese company for the kind gesture.
He said “it takes great resources to keep the facilities in good shape and we’ll continue to consult Shanghai Construction Group for their periodic advice to maintain the facilities.
