Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover has been disallowed from voting at the main Osu centre in Accra.
Mr. Titus-Glover had gone to the centre to cast a proxy ballot on behalf of his colleague MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo but was stopped from doing so by the Electoral Commission official supervising the polls there.
But the MP is blaming the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong of being the architect of the development.
He claimed to have received clearance from Joseph Ayikoi Otoo, Coordinator of the elections committee to do so.
But the officer insists he needed another authorization from the party headquarters, Titus-Glover told Joy News’ Kwakye Nuamah.
The EC official, Alexander Poku explained that “in the case of the MP [Titus-Glover], he has the letter but his name is not on the proxy list and therefore needed an approval from the party headquarters before he could vote.”
“Until that is done, the MP cannot vote on behalf of Adwoa Safo,” the EC official stated.
