The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) and the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG) on their successful elections.
The two students’ bodies recently held their congresses to elect new executives to champion the course of students for another year.
In a statement, National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Sammy Awuku remined the new executives that positions bestowed on them equally impose key duties and responsibilities on them.
“Cardinal amongst them is the duty of sustaining and building up trust of the students of Ghana as well as the responsibility of firmly and adequately standing in for students across the length and breadth of the country by challenging the status quo to address the myriads of challenges that the students of Ghana are currently saddled with.
“As herculean as the challenges of modern day student leadership might be, the Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P) is very much encouraged that the proven track record of the new leadership offers a glimmer of hope to the students of Ghana. Having closely observed and monitored events in the build up to and during the elections, we are convinced that the best have been paraded to steer the affairs of the NUGS and USAG, “the statement noted.
