The Black Satellites made a giant step towards qualification into the Under 20 World Cup with an emphatic 2-0 victory over their Malian counterparts.Goals from Gladson Awako and Ransford Osei crashed any Malian dream of making it to the next stage of the tournament, making their final Group A clash against Cameroon a mere formality.Gladson headed home a terrific cross from Abeiku Quansah in the 15th minute of the game to put the Satellites ahead.Yacoubo Diara nearly got the much needed equalizer in the 27th minute when he cleverly shoved off a challenge by Boampong and fired a terrific left footer which whisked just wide from goal.Gladson Awako had another opportunity to increase his goal tally, at the closing embers of the first half, but with one touch too many, the Malian defence came to the rescue. The Malians started the second half the more determined side, using their strength physique much to their advantage, but created almost next to nothing. On the few occasions when they came to the final third of the Satellites half, they over elaborated, giving the Satellites more room to recover. An absolute howler by the Malian goalkeeper, gifted Ransford Osei the second goal for the Satellites in the 72nd minute. The goal keeper failed to grab a David Addy cross from the left, leaving Osei no choice but to easily connect with his head to earn his first goal of the tournament, and the Satellites second in the game.Dominic Ahdiyah, who had a rather disappointing game, dammed his marker in the 81st minute, and unleashed a terrific strike which whisked inches away from goal. With 4 points, the Black Satellites will play Rwanda on Saturday, in a must win encounter, to ensure absolute qualification into the next game of the tournament and a qualification to the World Cup to be held in Egypt later this year.
