Delegates of the Ho Central Constituency will not be voting at today’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) conference.
Speaking to JoyNews in Ho, Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser, Hannah Ashade explained that a court injunction had been placed on the constituency executives, preventing them from conducting any form of elections.
Sixteen (16) members took to the courts as a result of a dispute over the Voters’ Album.
Apparently there were two albums; one compiled by the previous constituency Secretary, and the other by the Chairman.
Identifying herself as one of the plaintiffs, Ms. Ashade explained that the executives could not come to a mutual agreement on which of the albums was to be used in the elections and as such, the concerned members turned to the courts to resolve the issue.
An injunction was granted by the courts and at the moment there is no recognized album for Ho Central.
As such there will be no election in the constituency.
