Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom CPP Presidential Candidate in the December elections has denied claims that his preferred candidates for possible ministerial appointments have been sidelined by President Mills.
The Daily Guide Newspaper reported the defeated candidate presented a list of party functionaries for possible appointment into President Mills’ administration, in line with the all-inclusive government promised by the NDC.
However in an interview with Joy News on Wednesday, Dr. Nduom insisted he has not made any personal overtures to have anybody within his party nominated into government, neither has he sent any list for consideration of President Mills.
Even though he subscribes to the tenets of an all-inclusive government, Dr. Nduom noted the initiative must be taken by the ruling government.
He said the party has no qualms if a member opted to work in an NDC government provided the appropriate steps were followed.
With the final list of ministerial nominees out, it is not clear whether the CPP functionaries would have any place in the Atta Mills government.
Asked if the appointment of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor as Finance Minister was in fulfillment of NDC’s pledge to the CPP for an all-inclusive government, Dr. Nduom declined comment, saying he knows very little the conditions under which Dr. Duffuor was appointed.
Dr. Nduom was a beneficiary of an all-inclusive government under the erstwhile Kufuor regime where he served in different ministerial portfolios until he resigned in 2007.
