Ghana reached the final of AYC here today with a close 4-3 win over South Africa in the first semi final this afternoon. Ghanaian coach Sellas Tetteh praised the South African side for their exciting football and said although they lost the match, they gave their best show in this competition.
Tetteh said: "I really appreciate the game of South African team. They are very exciting and gave us a good fight."
Tetteh added: "We are ready to face any side - Cameroon or Nigeria and we shall be well prepared.
At this stage you cant make a mistake. You have to be prepared for any opponent placed in your path," he said.
Ghana captain Ayew Dede was full of praise for the South African side and commended them for their good football and fighting spirit.
South African coach Serame Letsoaka said his side had gone beyond expectations. "Our objective was to play in the World cup in Egypt which we got. I would however like to stress that this side is still young and we can be confident of fielding this same team in the Olympics in 2012 and World cup 2014. Am happy with their performance although we didnt play well today. Ghana is a good side and we wish them well," he said.
