The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun preparations to hold regional and national conferences to elect new executives after reaching an out of court settlement with activist Linus Njonolah.
Mr. Njonolah had sued the NDC over provisions in the guidelines for the contest.
This forced the party to postpone the conferences.
Now that the court case has been withdrawn, Deputy General Secretary Kofi Adams says the party is ready to proceed and has announced opening of nominations.
"From 8th of November the regions may start their conferences to elect their executives. There will surely be another National Executive Committee meeting where the venue and date for the national congress would be announced", Kofi Adams said.
The NDC General Secretary however sees the holdup by the court injunction as a sign of the party's resilience and its adherence to rule of law.
