There was drama at the Wa Circuit court last Thursday when a suspected robber jumped over the court wall, minutes after he was discharged.
The 23-year old suspect, Inusah Abdul Rahman, had been discharged by the presiding judge, Isaac Akwantey on the grounds that the court has no locus to try robbers and that falls on the purview of the High Court.
According to the Upper West Regional crime officer of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Daniel Kwentwi, the suspect, 23 year old Inusah Abdul Rahman was standing trial at the Wa Circuit court on two counts; causing harm and robbery.
The presiding judge, his honour Isaac Akwantey discharged him to be tried at the higher court.

Minutes after being discharged by the Presiding judge; he took advantage of the dwarfish wall of the court, jumped over it and and took to his heels.
He was given a hot chase by the police and was later apprehended, about half a mile from the court, with the help of the public.
DSP Kwentwi denied that the suspect was neither shot nor brutalised by the police he attempted to run away from justice.
He was full of praise for the public for the bravery they exhibited in apprehending the suspected robber.
The suspect, according to police, sources is one of the deadliest marauding robbers in the municipality. He is notorious for beating police officers on several occasions and running away with their handcuffs.
