A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mohammed Aliu has accused party executives in the Northern Region of running away from being served with a writ of injunction he has secured from the court.
The injunction was to prevent the party from organising the regional elections scheduled for this weekend.
According to Aliu, the executives failed to show up at the Regional Coordinating Council where they were scheduled to meet to receive the injunction.
A Tamale high court placed an injunction on the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s planned Northern Regional elections scheduled to come off this weekend.
Mohammed Aliu, dragged the NDC to court claiming he was unfairly disqualified from contesting the party's regional secretary position saying that his disqualification was a breach of natural justice.
The Electoral Commission (EC), which is supposed to supervise the election has consequently failed to show any interest.
Despite the controversy, Regional Director of Elections, Rashid "Computer" Tanko, said the party would still go ahead with the election even if the EC officials do not report.
He also maintained the party is yet to be served with the writ.
Mr. Tanko added the party will set up its own internal system to ensure that no candidate is cheated.
Meanwhile the party is organising its Regional congress under a heavy police presence.
