Hosts Ivory Coast have crashed out of the inaugural finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after losing 1-0 to Tanzania in Abidjan.
Mrisho Ngasa scored the only goal of the Group A game eight minutes before half time.
His goal means that Tanzania are still in the hunt for a place in the last four.
In the day's other game in Group A Senegal and Zambia drew 0-0.
The Senegalese had most of the chances in the game, but were unable to break the deadlock.
Senegal's Babacar Ndiour was dismissed nine minutes from time for a second bookable offence.
The results mean that Zambia remain top of the group on goal difference ahead of Senegal, both sides have four points from their two games.
Tanzania are third a point behind and the Ivory Coast are yet to score a goal or secure a point at the tournament.
The final matches in the group are on Saturday with Zambia playing Tanzania and Senegal take on Ivory Coast.
