Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, has reassured people of the region that President John Atta Mills would honour promises made to the region within his first term of office.
He therefore urged the people to exercise patience while the government settled down to fulfil those promises.
Mr Amenowode said this when chiefs from Tapa Traditional Area paid a courtesy call on him at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) offices in Ho on Friday.
He said the promises might have been made in the times when the country’s economic situation was better but stressed that NDC government would not renege on them but honour them even if it delayed.
“We may not be able to do it on Monday as promised but it will surely be done on Wednesday, before the week ends,” Mr Amonowode said.
He appealed to chiefs to ensure that peace prevailed in the region for its accelerated development.
Nana Gyaagu Amankwa II, Spokesperson for the Tapa Traditional Area, commended the Regional Minister on his appointment and said chiefs from the area would support all developmental initiatives for rapid development of the area.
