The Senior Hall Tutor of Commonwealth of the University of Ghana, Mr. Frank Nyame, says all students of the university in police custody have been released.
The 30 students, all members of the Commonwealth Hall of the university were arrested after they clashed with the police at Tudu, a suburb of Accra whilst on a float to mark their 49th Hall week celebrations.
Mr. Nyame told Joy News that a high-powered delegation including the Attorney- General, Interior Minister and the leadership of the hall met with the police commander before the students were set free.
Meanwhile the Greater Accra region Police Commander, ACP Douglas Akrofi Asiedu has confirmed the release of the students.
He told Joy News that the students were released on bail.
