Former Black Stars captain Charles Kobina Akunnor is urging his successor Stephen Appiah to find a club in the next transfer window.
Appiah has been without a club since terminating his contract with Fenerbahce in 2008 but has since been cleared as free agent by Fifa.
Akunnor, who coaches Sekondi Elevise Wise in the Premier League, is mystified by the 28-year-old's failure to secure a club though talented.
The Ex-Wolfsburg believes Appiah's return to active club football can play a pivotal role in Ghana 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
"I find it hard to believe. In my days at the national team, there was no way you could play in the Black Stars when you are clubless," Akunnor is quoted as saying in the All Sports.
"I know Ghanaians believe in him just as I also believe in him. But I will urge him to keep himself by finding a club as early as possible."
Appiah was linked to a host of clubs in the January transfer window but no deal was firmed up.
Ghana's next World Cup qualifier is against Mali in Bamako on 07 June.
