Ghana born Ex-France international Marcel Desailly has reiterated his desire to coach the Black Stars in future but believes his chances are dependent on their 2010 World Cup qualification campaign.
The 40-year-old Ex-Chelsea defender was linked to the Ghana coaching job after Frenchman Claude Le Roy terminated his contract in May last year.
Desailly has no coaching experience but worked under top-notch coaches during his playing career which lasted close to two decades.
He lifted the World Cup in 1998 on home and twice won the Uefa Champions League with Marseille and AC Milan in 1993 and 1994.
"We are all hoping that Ghana qualifies and Ghana also manages to do something good. It's my target it's just a matter of time and in the correct moment and we will see," Desailly said on Joy Sports.
"For the moment my mind is onto other things and when I come back. For sure it's my target.
"After the world cup obviously it can be a target if Ghana don’t succeed and don’t deliver the performance we are all hoping and at that moment I am ready to have my chance." he added
"Also because after 20 years of high level, I think my experience will bring something extra."
