A ten member Ghanaian contingent left Ghana last Sunday to participate in the 30th edition of the Africa Judo Union Championship in Mauritius from April 27 to May 3, 2009.
A statement signed by Patrick Anyidoho General Secretary of the Ghana Judo Association (GJA), said the contingent is made up of three officials and seven judokas comprising four males and three females.
The male team is composed of Razak Mumuni Abugri (-60k) Rashid Alhassan (-66kg), Raymond Normeshie (-73kg) and London-based Victor Ahiawor (-81kg), whilst the female team is made up of Cynthia Dotse (-63kg), Audrey Nana Oparebea Odoi (+78) and Linda Afari (-78kg).
About twenty countries are expected to participate in the championship.
The team is expected back in Ghana on May 4, 2009.
